Packaging - our unique advantage
The three most important things about packaging are;1. The logo - .i.e. Mars Bar by Masterfoods, Shakers by First Ireland Spirits, VAIO by Sony etc.
2. The branding - colours, type and graphics which quickly identify the brand without the need to see the logo e.g. Nike swoosh
3. The proposition - show the product in an attractive manner to your target audience e.g photography, graphics, illustration etc.
When we are briefed by a client in packaging design we can put our experience into action. Firstly we design a logo style for the product and apply it to the packaging. In case study 1. below for Shakers we designed the logo style first. Because it's an individual, one-off type design it cannot be copied and the client owned all copyright. We then create an overall look for the packaging i.e. the branding. In this case there were four individual flavours and we chose a fun, sophisticated black background to convey the "fun, party atmosphere" of Shakers cocktails. Rather than using illustrations, which would have been somewhat dated for such a new product, we commissioned a food photographer to shoot the drinks. The result was a fun party pack that stands out when displayed on the shelf in supermarkets and duty-free shops.
Another advantage in using Paragon is that we have a lot of experience in creating Point of Sale materials as well as creating succesful advertising, launch campaigns.
